Discount Travel Secrets: Self Guided Audio Driving Tours Hi Reader, One of my favorite things to book for road trips lately has been self guided audio driving tours. Not regular tours where you have to show up at a certain time and follow a giant group around. These are the kind you download on your phone and do completely at your own pace while driving. They make road trips SO much more interesting. We first started using them in Maui because there’s so many stops along the Road to Hana, the West Maui coastline, and Haleakala National Park that we would’ve driven right past otherwise. And once we started using them, we got hooked. 🤣 Now I actively look for them before almost every big road trip. We’ve used them in:
What I like is that you still get all the stories, history, weird facts, local legends, and recommendations that a tour guide can give you, but without being on a schedule (or with other people). Want to stop for an hour because you found a random overlook or roadside stand with homemade pie? Cool. Want to skip a stop entirely? Also cool. The tour just keeps going whenever you’re ready. It’s basically like having a local guide riding along in the car with you giving you all the tea about the area while you road trip. 🤣 They’re also usually WAY cheaper than traditional guided tours, especially for larger families since you only need one download for the car. I usually book ours through Viator because it’s easy to compare different driving tours and see what’s available in an area before we go (affiliate).
If you’ve never tried a self guided driving tour before, I honestly think they’re one of the most underrated ways to explore a new place. Especially for road trips where half the fun is pulling over whenever something random catches your attention. See you next week, Eva and JP 💎 P.S. Ready to plan your next trip? Discount Travel Secrets: My Practically Free Trip To North Carolina Hi Reader, As I mentioned last week, I am currently out on the road again! I just spent a couple days in the small mountain town of Sapphire, North Carolina before continuing my road trip down to Florida. It's kind of like going to Pigeon Forge, except it's on the back side of the Smoky Mountains, and the town is MUCH smaller. Sapphire is more of a place to unplug, enjoy the outdoors, and maybe try some golf or ziplining or...
