Discount Travel Secret: Easter Experiences

Discount Travel Secret:
Easter Experiences

Hi Reader,

Happy Easter weekend!

This week I have some discount travel tips for popular Easter travel experiences:

🎒 🎟️ Attractions 🎒 🎟️

Santuario de Chimayo

Santuario de Chimayo is a historic pilgrimage site in New Mexico with over 300,000 visitors a year, mostly during Holy Week (this current week), leading up to Easter Sunday.

Built in 1813, it's a National Historic Landmark!

I actually have never met anyone else that's ever been or ever heard of it, so I'd definitely say it's a hidden gem to most people (and free to visit).

When we visited, we stayed nearby in Santa Fe, which is only about 30 miles away.

πŸ¨β›ΊοΈ Lodging 🏨 ⛺️

Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder

This is the resort we stayed at when we were in the Santa Fe area.

It's about 10 minutes outside of town.

Since it's part of Hilton, we were able to get some of our Hilton Honors perks/rewards for our stay.

Even though this is a full resort and casino, the price wasn't any more expensive than any other Hilton hotel (even the lower tiered ones like Hampton Inn).

What I loved about this resort too is that the architecture, the room decor, and the museum gallery are all authentic to the local area.

🍽️ Dining 🍽️

9 Best Restaurants in San Diego

This has nothing to do with the other two recommendations, but it's a newer post I haven't shared yet, where I consolidated all the best of my previous San Diego restaurant posts into one, single "best of" post.

I'll give you a hint: you can't go wrong in Old Town or in the Gaslamp Quarter!

🚘 ✈️ Transportation 🚘 ✈️

Take A Boat To Magic Kingdom From These Disney Resorts

An updated post from another one of my blogs - Mouse Transportation Tips - is all about getting around Disney World!

Spring Break is such a busy time at Disney World, that they actually implemented a temporary policy at Disney Springs where you had to be a registered resort guest or have a dining/spa reservation to take the buses at Disney Springs to various resorts.

The only time they've done this before was on New Year's Eve!

See you next week,

Eva and JP πŸ’Ž

Discount Travel Secrets: Self Guided Audio Driving Tours Hi Reader, One of my favorite things to book for road trips lately has been self guided audio driving tours. Not regular tours where you have to show up at a certain time and follow a giant group around. These are the kind you download on your phone and do completely at your own pace while driving. They make road trips SO much more interesting. We first started using them in Maui because there’s so many stops along the Road to Hana, the...

Discount Travel Secrets: Save On A Florida Vacation Hi Reader, I just spent 2 weeks in Florida and my grand total of spending was $389.78! Here's the breakdown by sector of the tourism industry: Transportation = $190.42 I drove my own car, so no rental costs or airfare costs I spent $190.42 on gas and drove about 2,500 miles round trip Toll expenses are still TBD I did get an oil change before the trip, which was like $70, but that's something I would have had to regardless, so I don't...
