We Stayed In One Of New York's Most Haunted Hotels

A Haunted Hotel In The Adirondacks Hi Reader, Earlier this summer, we took a road trip up to Lake Placid for my brother's wedding. When I was researching places to stay, the first thing I did was check if there were any good rates with Hilton as Diamond Members because Lake Placid is notoriously expensive. During my search, I found a Curio Collection hotel, which is basically Hilton's boutique hotel collection. It was in the neighboring town of Lake Saranac, only about 10 minutes from the wedding venue. When I looked through the pictures of the hotel, I found that it was a recently restored 1920s era hotel that looks just like the Tower of Terror (they're both from that same era so many details were the same). I loved the look of the hotel bar and that it was actually just a larger, open seating and hangout area to play board games, enjoy the warm fireplace, or have a drink out on the verandah. To my pleasant surprise, parking was free, and we got a daily food & beverage credit of $18 per day that we were able to spend on breakfast, late night drinks, and late night desserts.
