Discount Travel Secret: 🌍 Why Now’s the Time to Prep for Black Friday Travel Deals

Discount Travel Secrets

Hi Reader,

I have one new blog post to share this week, a day trip itinerary to Chicago!

We went last Summer and had the best time seeing all the highlights and enjoying the best food, while also being guided around by a local.

Check out the itinerary: Chicago One Day Itinerary

Now for what I really wanted to share:

I know it might feel early to start thinking about Black Friday and Travel Tuesday, but trust me, now’s the time to plant the seed if you want to score actual travel deals later this year.

Every year, I see the same pattern: people get excited about “50% off travel deals!” only to realize those prices aren’t much different from what they were a few weeks before.

Companies love to mark things up before discount season so it looks like a huge sale when it’s really just business as usual.

That’s why October is the perfect time to start laying the groundwork for your 2026 travel plans.

Here’s your game plan:

Decide where you want to go in 2026.

Whether that’s a national park road trip, a Caribbean cruise, or a long weekend in a new city, get those ideas down.

Price it out now.

Check current rates for flights, hotels, and vacation packages so you know what’s normal.

Make your wish list.

Write down which companies or booking platforms you might use like Viator, Going.com, Get Away Today, or Expedia and start following their newsletters or social media accounts.

Plan your timing.

Some of the best deals pop up the week of Thanksgiving (especially on Travel Tuesday), and they go fast.

If you already know your dream destinations, you can book confidently when the right offer hits your inbox.

Think of this as your travel deal prep season.

A little bit of planning now means you’ll recognize a real deal when you see it.

So, grab your favorite cozy drink, open a fresh Google Doc or notebook, and start sketching out your 2026 adventures.

The best deals will go to the travelers who were ready before the rest of the internet caught on.

See you next week,

Eva and JP 💎
