Discount Travel Secret: Does Anyone Still Use Groupon?

Discount Travel Secret: Groupon Discounts

Hi Reader,

Something JP and I bought recently was a Groupon bundle for a local entertainment center that included an escape room for 2 + an appetizer for $36.

When we lived in California, most escape rooms would make us buy out the room if it was just the 2 of us, so it would cost about $100-$110 for us to do an escape room.

Being in Ohio now, most escape rooms are about $30-$35 per person and we don't have to buy out rooms, so it costs nearly half of what we were spending in California ($60-$70).

But this Groupon deal is basically like paying for 1 person to do an escape room, with the 2nd person playing for free & getting a free appetizer thrown in too!

Something I talk about a lot throughout my Discount Travel Secrets Insider Series is not only traveling for less, but also getting to do more for less - stretching the dollar further and getting to do and see more.

So I can confidently say that Groupon is still relevant and it's still a good resource when traveling.

In the past, we loved using Groupon when we would go to wine tastings around California because they have a lot of 2 for 1 wine tasting deals or upgrades to premium wines.

Groupon is also currently running a new year's sale for up to 75% off when you use code NEWYEAR, so if you know you have any trips coming up, check out what's available!

Some examples of what you can find on Groupon:

  • Valvoline has coupons on here and I ALWAYS recommend getting an oil change or at least getting your car checked out before going on a road trip.
  • Car Washes have BOGO deals and you'll definitely want to wash your car before and after road trips.
  • Sam's Club and Costco have up to 50% off memberships and I also recommend bringing at least some groceries when you travel to save money on food (you'll order less at restaurants because you can have breakfast, drinks, and/or snacks available to you your entire trip).
  • Great Wolf Lodge discounts to enjoy a day trip at their water park without having to stay the night (they have locations all over the US).
  • Kings Island's Winter Fest admission 50% off (other theme parks have similar deals).
  • Movie Theater bundles
  • tons of Hotel and Resort discounts
  • lots of Spa discounts and unique spa experiences like Float Therapy and Salt Cave experiences.

I'd love to hear about what you find on Groupon!

See you next week,

Eva and JP 💎

Discount Travel Secret: National Parks Free Entrance Days Hi Reader, When JP and I first started traveling together back in 2017 we didn't have much money (I was in grad school, working 2 full time jobs, and living in the notoriously expensive area of Southern California). I wasn't sure how long I'd be living out there and I wanted to see and do as much as I could while I had the opportunity. So we started taking some overnight and weekend trips to national parks because of how inexpensive...
